"Learning to Pray from Listening to Prayers"
Ephesians 3:14-21 records Paul’s second prayer in this small letter. The prayer we have before us is one of the greatest peaks of all the prayers offered in Scripture. As we move into the first petition of this prayer, we can learn much about Paul’s view of prayer, his view of God, his posture in prayer, his pastor’s heart, and what he believes is most important for the saints in Ephesus. Many Christians speak of struggling in their prayer life. Examining such prayers as the one before us and then moving forward in seeking to pray the same way will profoundly change the experience we have in praying to our Heavenly Father. God’s Word gives us everything we need to pray in a way that brings Him glory and fills us with joy, even amid severe trials.
